The ethos of natural burial

Natural

Natural burial is a more sustainable alternative to traditional graveyard or cemetery. Instead of embalming, metal coffins or concrete vaults, biodegradable materials are used such as a cardboard coffin, wicker basket or shroud.

Natural burials are a simple, eco-friendly way of returning a body to the earth and suit people who want nature-centred goodbyes with minimal environmental impact.

They’re often positive and peaceful places to visit, surrounded by wildlife and nature.

Inclusive

Natural burial grounds are popular because they welcome all faiths and beliefs, and people with no religion at all.

There are no rigid timetables or time slots, ceremonies can take all day if desired.

Flexible

They allow non-traditional funerals, meaning families can be more flexible with what kind of celebration they want.

We have funeral directors that we can recommend although families do not have to use a funeral director if they do not wish. Many different forms of celebration are welcome.

Our site

We aim to make the site a beautiful and tranquil final resting place for loved ones and a tranquil place for close friends and family to visit during what is a very challenging time, we hope to make the difficult experience of losing a loved one a little bit easier by creating an inviting environment surrounded by nature.
