A bit about our family and story so you can get to know who will be taking care of you and your family.

Who will be taking care of you?

We are a family run business that all chip in together. At least one of us will be there on the day of the funeral to offer further support if needed, whether that’s pulling the funeral bier or giving less mobile relatives lifts to the graveside, we’re happy to help in whatever capacity we can.

Your main point of contact, Clair, is a friendly face and will guide you through everything. Ask her anything! There are no silly questions.

Our groundsman, James, keeps the wildflower meadow looking its best and ensures paths are mown to perfection. James is protective over his mowing job!

James

Our second groundsman, George, does the mowing when James lets him. He also helps family’s on the day of funerals, often pulling the funeral bier and helping the gravedigger after.

George

Helps with all things marketing and social media, if you’re visiting early you may spot her trying (& often failing) to get the best wildlife shots before she starts her 9-5 (also in sustainability).

Our Background

We are a farming family that have farmed in the area for 3 generations. The site was once an unproductive agricultural field, we thought it was destined for more than this due to its incredible views that we loved so much and wanted others to enjoy them too.

In 2019, we wanted to diversify the land into something as sustainable as possible, after some research, we came across natural burial which felt special to us as it meant the site would be protected from development forever and generations to come could enjoy it like we had.

We then diversified and set out to create a peaceful and beautiful space to reflect, which is what you see today!

We planted 93 trees of different native species, strategically placed along the entrance track and around the site so they do not interrupt the beautiful views. We also planted around 620m of hedgerows, this includes a mix of 7 different types of native hedge species.

Drilling of the wildflower meadow took place in Sep 2021 which marked the end of an era for us as a family as it has been an agricultural field for the last 30 years!

Castle View Farm gains planning permission for natural burial ground.

After a long process, we gained planning permission in May 2021, where we could start our journey transforming the site into a peaceful environment for remembrance at a site filled with wildflowers and views of the countryside.
